GDPR — Your Rights & Our Obligations
toolbin.eu · Last updated: June 2026
toolbin.eu is operated from within the European Union and is fully subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This page explains what data we process, why, and what rights you have.
1. Data controller
The data controller for toolbin.eu is the individual operator of this website. Contact for data protection matters: use the contact form on the About page. We do not have a Data Protection Officer (DPO), as this is not required for a sole-operator website of this size.
2. Legal basis for processing
We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis under GDPR Article 6:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — Analytics cookies and advertising cookies are only placed after you explicitly accept via the cookie banner.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) — We log basic server-side information (IP addresses, request paths, timestamps) for security, abuse prevention, and operational integrity. This is limited to what is strictly necessary.
- Contract performance (Art. 6(1)(b)) — For link exchange partners, we process email addresses and website URLs to operate the exchange program you voluntarily joined.
3. What data we collect
Visitors to toolbin.eu (no account)
- No personal data is collected from visitors who decline cookies.
- If you accept cookies, third-party advertising scripts may collect data as described in our Cookie Policy.
- Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamp) are retained for up to 30 days for security purposes.
Link exchange partners
- Email address — used to send your login link and program notifications. Never shared or sold.
- Website URL and site name — used to operate the exchange and display your link on toolbin.eu.
- Click statistics — IP addresses and referring page URLs of visitors who click links in both directions are logged for statistical purposes. These are never shared with third parties.
- Invitation timestamp and reminder dates — administrative data used to manage the program.
Contact form submissions
- Your name, email address, and message are transmitted directly to the site operator by email and are not stored in any database.
4. Data retention
- Server logs — retained for up to 30 days, then deleted automatically.
- Link exchange partner data — retained for as long as you participate in the program. If you opt out, your entry is marked as declined; you can request full deletion at any time (see Section 6).
- Click statistics — retained for up to 12 months, then purged.
- Contact form emails — retained by the operator for as long as needed to respond, then deleted manually.
5. Data sharing and transfers
We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes. The only third parties that may receive data are:
- Hostinger — our hosting provider, which processes server logs and stores files on EU-based infrastructure.
- Ad networks — only if you have accepted cookies. These operate under their own privacy policies and GDPR obligations.
All data is stored within the European Union. No transfers to third countries take place unless an ad network you have consented to operates outside the EU with appropriate safeguards.
6. Your rights under GDPR
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access (Art. 15) — you can request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16) — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17) — you can request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18) — you can ask us to pause processing your data while a dispute is resolved.
- Right to data portability (Art. 20) — you can request your data in a machine-readable format.
- Right to object (Art. 21) — you can object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Right to withdraw consent — you can withdraw cookie consent at any time via the cookie banner or by clearing your browser cookies.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the form on the About page. We will respond within 30 days as required by GDPR.
7. Cookies
For full details of which cookies are used and how to control them, see our Cookie Policy.
8. Children
toolbin.eu is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal data to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Complaints
If you believe we are handling your personal data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in your EU member state. In Denmark, this is Datatilsynet.
10. Changes to this page
We may update this page when our data processing practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
